Tafelrouter TP-Link AX1800 dualband Wi-Fi 6

The TP-Link AX1800 Dual Band Wi‑Fi 6 tabletop router delivers Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) performance for home and small office networks. With dual‑band support (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and a maximum WLAN data transfer rate of 1201 Mbit/s, the router is designed to provide stable wireless throughput to multiple devices. The compact black chassis integrates four external antennas, four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and a USB port for shared storage or peripheral connectivity. The device includes WPA3‑Enterprise security for stronger protection of wireless traffic and supports standard Gigabit wired connections for high‑speed local networking.

Advantages

The AX1800 router combines the improved capacity and efficiency of Wi‑Fi 6 with dual‑band operation to reduce congestion and improve simultaneous performance across devices. Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports offer wired connections at 1000 Mbit/s, suitable for devices that require stable low‑latency links. Four antennas extend coverage and signal reliability across a typical apartment or small office layout. Integrated USB connectivity enables file sharing or simple network services. Built‑in WPA3‑Enterprise enhances wireless security and helps protect connected devices and data.

Suitable for

• High‑speed internet access for multiple concurrent users in homes
• Small office networks requiring reliable Wi‑Fi and wired Gigabit connections
• Streaming 4K video, online gaming, and video conferencing
• Connecting printers, NAS or shared storage via the USB port

How to use

Place the router in a central, elevated location to maximise wireless coverage and reduce physical obstructions. Connect your internet uplink (modem or WAN source) to the router and plug client devices into the Gigabit LAN ports when wired connections are preferred. Use the USB port to attach external storage or compatible peripherals and configure shared access through the router's web interface. Access the router's setup page using a web browser or the manufacturer's app to configure wireless network names (SSIDs), security settings and administrative credentials. Apply firmware updates when available to maintain performance and security.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, enable 5 GHz band for high‑bandwidth devices and keep 2.4 GHz for longer‑range or legacy devices. Use WPA3‑Enterprise where supported for improved security and schedule periodic firmware checks. Position antennas vertically for typical coverage patterns and avoid placing the router near large metal objects or microwaves that may cause interference.
