Videokabel-adapter ROLINE 11.04.5873 5m HDMI DVI zwart zilver

The ROLINE 11.04.5873 5m HDMI DVI cable adapter provides a straightforward wired connection between HDMI source devices and DVI displays. With a 5 meter cable length and a combination of HDMI and DVI connectors, this adapter supports uncompressed digital video transmission for presentations, desktop setups and multimedia systems where DVI input is required. The black and silver finish offers a neutral appearance suitable for office or home environments.

Advantages

This cable adapter enables compatibility between modern HDMI sources and legacy DVI displays without requiring active converters. The 5 m length gives flexibility in device placement while maintaining signal integrity for typical resolutions supported by HDMI-to-DVI links. Its connectors are designed for reliable mating and the two-tone housing resists everyday handling and cable movement.

Suitable for

• Connecting laptops, media players or set-top boxes with HDMI output to monitors or projectors with DVI input
• Office workstations that require digital video transmission without audio
• Classroom and conference-room AV setups where screen positions vary
• Home systems combining newer video sources with older DVI displays

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 m
• Connector type A: HDMI (male)
• Connector type B: DVI (male)
• Video signal: Digital (HDMI to DVI) — video only, no embedded audio over DVI
• Exterior: black and silver connector housings
• Typical use: point-to-point video connection between HDMI source and DVI display

How to use

Connect the HDMI end of the cable to the HDMI output on your source device and insert the DVI end into the DVI input on the display. Ensure both devices are powered off when making the connection to avoid hot-plug issues, then power them on and select the DVI input on the display if necessary. Adjust the source device's output resolution to match the capabilities of the DVI display for optimal image quality.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use at typical indoor ambient temperatures and avoid tight bends near the connectors. Because DVI does not carry audio in the common single-link implementations, plan a separate audio connection if sound is required. When using higher resolutions, verify the display and source support the chosen resolution over a passive HDMI–DVI link.
