Zakmes Opinel nr. 18 met opvouwbaar boomzaagblad en houten handvat

Opinel No. 18 pocket knife with a folding tree saw blade and wooden handle is a compact, manually operated cutting tool designed for cutting small branches and performing light outdoor tasks. The folding tree saw blade tucks safely into the handle when not in use, while the wooden handle offers a stable grip during sawing and general cutting. This multifunctional tool combines a saw blade profile with a slim, portable form factor that fits into pockets or backpacks for easy transport during camping, gardening, or light forestry activities.

Advantages

The folding tree saw blade provides efficient cutting of small-diameter branches with a tooth geometry optimized for quick wood removal and reduced binding. The wooden handle delivers tactile comfort and a natural grip surface that remains comfortable during extended use. The simple folding mechanism secures the blade when closed, reducing accidental exposure while the knife is carried. The overall construction balances weight and strength to make the tool practical for outdoor users who need a small saw combined with a pocketable knife design.

• Outdoor recreation where a compact saw is needed

Key specifications

• Blade type: folding tree saw blade with toothed edge for wood cutting
• Handle material: wooden handle for ergonomic grip
• Operation: manual folding mechanism that secures blade when closed
• Portability: compact, pocket-friendly design suitable for carrying in pack or pocket
• Primary use: cutting small-diameter branches and light outdoor wood tasks

How to use

Open the folding tree saw blade fully and ensure it is seated securely in the open position. Hold the wooden handle firmly with a comfortable grip and place the saw teeth against the wood to be cut. Use steady, controlled strokes with moderate pressure, allowing the tooth geometry to remove material efficiently. After finishing, wipe the blade clean of sap or debris, fold it back into the handle until it clicks or is fully recessed, and store the tool in a safe place. Regular inspection of the blade teeth and handle will help maintain cutting performance and safe operation.

Recommendations

For best results, use the saw on branches within the blade’s effective cutting diameter and avoid twisting motions that could damage the teeth. Keep the wooden handle dry and occasionally treat it with a light oil if exposed frequently to moisture. Follow local regulations for carrying bladed tools in public areas.
