Zelfklevend velglint FISCHER 85500 — universeel, voor alle velgmaten

Self-adhesive rim tape FISCHER 85500 — universal, for all rim sizes is a protective rim strip designed to cover spoke holes and sharp edges on bicycle rims. The tape features an adhesive backing that secures it to the rim bed, creating a smooth barrier between the inner tube and the rim. It is intended for use on a wide range of rim widths and diameters and helps reduce punctures, improve tyre seating and support stable tyre pressure.

Advantages

The self-adhesive construction simplifies installation and keeps the tape firmly in place without additional fasteners. Its uniform thickness offers consistent protection across the rim bed while remaining flexible enough to conform to different rim profiles. By isolating the inner tube from spoke holes and rough edges, the tape lowers the risk of pinch flats and abrasion-related punctures. The product is compatible with tubed tyre systems and contributes to easier maintenance and longer tube life.

Suitable for

• Road, touring and commuter bicycles with tubed tyres
• Mountain bikes and hybrid bikes with standard rimbeds
• Bicycle workshops performing routine rim preparation and tube replacement
• Home mechanics seeking a quick, reliable rim protection solution

Key specifications

• Type: self-adhesive rim tape
• Compatibility: universal for various rim diameters and widths
• Material: durable, flexible protective strip
• Adhesive: pressure-sensitive backing for direct application to rim bed
• Function: covers spoke holes and sharp edges to protect inner tubes

How to use

Clean the rim bed thoroughly to remove dirt, oil and residue before applying the tape. Center the tape on the rim bed and press it firmly along the circumference, ensuring the adhesive contacts the rim surface without air pockets or wrinkles. Trim any excess material so the tape does not interfere with tyre bead seating or valve placement. After application, install the inner tube and tyre according to standard mounting procedures and check for correct seating and pressure.

Recommendations

For best results, apply the tape at moderate temperatures and allow the adhesive to set before riding. Inspect the tape periodically for wear or displacement and replace it if the protective surface is compromised. Do not use on rims specifically requiring cloth or wire-reinforced rim strips; verify rim compatibility with manufacturer guidelines when in doubt.
