ACT afgeschermde CAT6A outdoor IP68 RJ45-koppeling SD6522, Cat6A afgeschermde Ethernet inline-koppeling

The ACT Shielded CAT6A Outdoor IP68 RJ45 Coupler SD6522 is a toolless inline coupler designed to join two shielded CAT6A Ethernet patch cables with RJ45 connectors. Built for outdoor and harsh environments, the coupler maintains shielding continuity and supports high-speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet links while providing dust- and waterproof protection with an IP68 rating. It accepts cables with outer jacket diameters of 4.5–7.5 mm and features a screwable strain relief to protect the connection from tension and environmental ingress.

Advantages

The coupler provides a straightforward, tool-free way to extend or join shielded CAT6A cables while preserving shielding and minimizing signal loss. Its IP68-rated housing and screw-on strain relief ensure reliable performance in wet or dusty conditions. Compact and lightweight, the unit simplifies temporary and permanent outdoor connections without requiring crimping or specialized tools.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

When it may not be suitable

This inline coupler is intended for shielded CAT6A cables with RJ45 plugs and an outer jacket diameter of 4.5–7.5 mm; it may not fit cables outside that diameter range or cables without standard RJ45 connectors. The coupler is not a replacement for properly installed permanent conduit or buried fiber runs where different mechanical protection or higher environmental ratings are required.

How to use

To use the ACT SD6522 coupler, verify that both shielded CAT6A patch cables have standard RJ45 plugs and that their outer jacket diameters fall within 4.5–7.5 mm. Insert each RJ45 plug into the female RJ45 ports of the coupler. Align and push the plugs fully in, then screw the two water- and dustproof halves together until the housing and strain relief are secure. Ensure the screwable strain relief grips the cable jacket to prevent tension on the connector. For best performance, avoid sharp bends near the connector and route cables to minimize mechanical stress.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

Use the ACT Shielded CAT6A Outdoor IP68 RJ45 Coupler SD6522 to create quick, shielded inline connections in outdoor or harsh environments; always secure cables with the screwable strain relief and avoid exposing the assembled coupler to excessive mechanical impact or prolonged submersion under conditions beyond typical outdoor installation scenarios.
