ACT Oranje 2 meter LSZH U/FTP CAT6A datacenter slimline-patchkabel rastnasvrij met RJ45-stekkers

The ACT Orange 2 meter LSZH U/FTP CAT6A datacenter patch cable is a slimline Ethernet cable with a 3.8 mm diameter designed for datacenter and rack installations. It features snagless RJ45 connectors with gold-plated contacts and a low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) jacket. Compared with regular CAT6A patch cords, the reduced diameter and smaller bending radius improve airflow inside server racks and network cabinets while supporting high-speed data transfer over a 2 m length.

Advantages

The slim 3.8 mm construction reduces cable bulk and allows denser cable routing, improving rack airflow and space utilization. The U/FTP shielding offers protection against electromagnetic interference, and gold-plated RJ45 contacts provide reliable connectivity and corrosion resistance. The LSZH jacket minimises smoke and toxic fumes in case of fire. The cable adheres to CAT6A performance characteristics while remaining compatible with standard RJ45 ports.

How to use

Connect one RJ45 end to the network device (switch, patch panel or server) and the other end to the corresponding port. Route the slimline cable through cable management channels or horizontal managers to maintain neat runs and optimize airflow. Avoid sharp bends beyond the cable’s bending radius to maintain signal integrity. For standard installations the cable functions like any CAT6A patch cord while offering the benefits of a reduced diameter.

Recommendations

ISO/IEC and TIA standards typically specify patch cord conductor sizes between 22 and 26 AWG; slimline designs use finer 32 AWG conductors which can increase attenuation at higher frequencies. For Power over Ethernet (PoE) deployments, limit bundled slimline CAT6A cables to a maximum of 24 cables per bundle to prevent excessive temperature rise; this guidance aligns with ACT recommendations and helps keep temperature increase below the ANSI TSB-184-A limit of 15°C above ambient for the center cable.
