Adapter RJ45-DMX EUROLITE DNK-2 (model 70064832) — RJ45-naar-DMX-signaalomzetter

The EUROLITE DNK-2 adapter converts RJ45 network-style connections to DMX512 signals, allowing lighting controllers, dimmers and fixtures to be connected using standard Ethernet cables. Designed for applications where DMX distribution over RJ45 cabling simplifies installation, the adapter provides a compact interface between network-style cabling and professional lighting equipment that uses XLR-based DMX connectors. It is intended for linking stage lights, control consoles and distribution hardware in installations, events and touring setups.

Advantages

The adapter offers a compact, easy-to-install solution for converting RJ45 wiring to DMX512-compatible signalling without modifying existing lighting equipment. It reduces the need for long runs of heavy-duty XLR cable by enabling the use of readily available network cables and infrastructure. The device is suitable for quick reconfiguration of signal routes and simplifies cabling logistics during setup and strike of events.

Key specifications

How to use

Connect the adapter between an RJ45-terminated cable run and the DMX input or output of a lighting device or distribution box according to the system topology. Ensure cable shielding and pinout match the DMX wiring scheme used in your installation. Where necessary, configure the lighting controller and address fixtures before powering the setup. Use a single adapter per cable transition from RJ45 to DMX; do not use adapters to convert unrelated network traffic into lighting signals.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use quality twisted-pair cables and keep RJ45-to-DMX transitions close to terminators or distribution points. Verify DMX termination and grounding to prevent interference. Avoid routing network cables parallel to mains power runs for long distances and inspect connectors for secure seating before each event.
