Afdichtingsschuim TESA 05559-00100 Afdichtingsband 6 m Wit

TESA 05559-00100 weather stripping is a self-adhesive seal foam designed to close narrow gaps between 1 mm and 3.5 mm. Supplied in white and 6 m length, the foam tape provides continuous sealing for doors, windows and other joints where air infiltration, drafts and noise are a concern. The product is intended for indoor use and offers a practical solution for improving thermal insulation and reducing sound transmission in living and working spaces.

Advantages

The self-adhesive backing allows for quick, tool-free application on clean, dry surfaces. The flexible foam compresses to fill irregular gaps within the specified range while maintaining a low profile once installed. The white color integrates discreetly with most frames and trim. With a shelf life of up to 4 years, the tape retains adhesion and sealing properties when stored according to manufacturer guidance.

Suitable for

• Sealing gaps around interior and exterior door frames
• Weatherproofing window sashes and frames
• Reducing drafts in ventilation gaps and service openings
• Minimising noise transfer through small cracks and joints

Key specifications

• Material: compressible foam with pressure-sensitive adhesive
• Color: white
• Length: 6 m
• Sealing gap range: suitable for 1 mm to 3.5 mm
• Typical applications: doors, windows, small joints and gaps
• Storage life: up to 4 years when stored dry and protected from extreme temperatures

How to use

Prepare the surface by cleaning it thoroughly to remove dust, grease and loose particles; a degreasing agent may be used on painted or varnished surfaces. Measure the length required and cut the foam tape to size with scissors. Peel off the protective backing and press the adhesive side firmly onto the substrate, compressing the foam to ensure continuous contact along the entire length. For best results, apply at room temperature and avoid repositioning after initial contact to preserve adhesive strength.

Recommendations

For durable adhesion, apply the seal foam on dry, stable substrates such as painted wood, metal or PVC. Avoid use on rough, dusty or crumbling surfaces. When sealing exterior-exposed areas, check periodically for wear and replace the tape if compression or adhesion has noticeably decreased. Store unused rolls in original packaging, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
