Bout cimco 190224 — verzinkte stalen houtbout, 80 mm lengte, 8 mm schroefdraaddiameter, 1 stuk

Cimco 190224 is a galvanized steel wood bolt with an overall length of 80 mm and a thread diameter of 8 mm, supplied as a single piece. The zinc coating provides corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and sheltered outdoor carpentry and repair tasks. Designed for joining wood to wood or wood to metal, this bolt offers a straightforward fastening solution where a medium-length, medium-diameter threaded fastener is required.

Advantages

The galvanized steel construction ensures increased resistance to rust compared with untreated steel, extending service life in humid or variable environments. The 8 mm thread diameter balances shear strength and ease of drilling for common woodworking tools, while the 80 mm overall length provides adequate embedment for secure joints in typical framing and repair applications. Supplied as a single unit, it is convenient for bespoke projects or spare-part needs.

How to use

Pre-drill an appropriately sized pilot hole in the wood to match the bolt’s thread diameter or to the manufacturer’s pilot-hole recommendation for your timber density. Position the bolt through the components to be joined, add a washer if required, and tighten with a suitable wrench or socket until the joint is secure but without over-torquing to avoid crushing the wood fibers. For wood-to-metal connections, ensure the metal member has a clearance hole compatible with the 8 mm thread diameter or use a nut on the far side as required.

Recommendations

For outdoor exposure, use in sheltered locations or ensure additional protective measures (paint or sealant) on surrounding timber; when working with hardwoods, increase pilot-hole size slightly to prevent splitting. Confirm torque settings relative to wood density to maintain structural integrity.
