Draadloos outdoor accesspoint TP-LINK OMADA EAP725-Outdoor 2,4/5 GHz, 5000 Mbit/s, PoE, 8 antennes, 1x RJ-45, wit

TP-LINK OMADA EAP725-Outdoor is a weather-resistant outdoor access point that supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless bands with a combined maximum throughput of 5000 Mbit/s. The unit includes eight internal/external antennas and a single Gigabit/2.5G-capable RJ-45 port with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, enabling flexible deployment and reduced cabling. Built for outdoor coverage, it offers an IP66-rated enclosure and hardware-level security protocols.

Advantages

The device allows quick switching between directional and omnidirectional antenna modes via software, and its auto-sensing plug & play function automatically detects antenna attachment or removal and swaps between internal and external antennas without manual configuration. It supports mesh networking and seamless roaming for uninterrupted client connectivity and integrates with Omada SDN for one-click setup and centralized cloud management.

Suitable for

• Outdoor public areas (parks, plazas)
• Event venues and stadiums
• Business campuses and multi-building sites
• Wide outdoor Wi‑Fi coverage with centralized management

Key specifications

• Wireless bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (dual-band, Wi‑Fi 7 / 802.11be capable)
• Maximum data transfer rate: up to 5000 Mbit/s (2.4 GHz: 688 Mbit/s; 5 GHz: 4324 Mbit/s)
• Antennas: 8 internal and external, switchable directional/omnidirectional modes
• Ethernet: 1× RJ-45 port supporting up to 2.5 Gbit/s
• Power: Power over Ethernet (PoE) support; typical maximum power consumption 18.4 W
• Durability: IP66 weatherproof enclosure and 6 kV lightning protection
• Protocols and security: WPA/WPA2/WPA3 (Personal & Enterprise), OWE, SNMP, SSH; supports roaming standards
• Product color and weight: White, approximately 1.33 kg

How to use

Mount the access point on a wall or pole using the supplied mounting hardware, connect a PoE-enabled switch or injector to the RJ-45 port to provide both power and network connectivity, and use Omada SDN or the device’s web management to adopt and configure the EAP725-Outdoor. Select antenna mode (directional or omnidirectional) in software as required for coverage patterns; the auto-sensing feature will detect antenna attachments and switch between internal and external antennas automatically.

Recommendations

For outdoor deployments, position the unit clear of large reflective surfaces and at sufficient height to minimise obstructions. Use Omada SDN for centralized configuration, enable mesh and roaming features when covering large areas, and ensure the PoE source meets the device power requirements.
