Hama 00005896 camera-filteraccessoire

The Hama 00005896 camera filter accessory is a compact, lightweight plastic tool designed to help photographers remove seized or tightly screwed-on filters and screwable lens attachments with diameters between 49 and 58 mm. Supplied as a set of two pieces and weighing only 5 g in total, it provides additional leverage to unscrew stubborn filters without damaging the filter or lens.

Advantages

This accessory offers a simple mechanical solution to loosen stuck filters by increasing the leverage applied during unscrewing. Made of durable plastic, the tool is lightweight and portable, suitable for travel and field use. The pair format allows working on two filters at once or keeping a spare piece for convenience.

Suitable for

• Removing seized camera filters with thread diameters 49–58 mm
• Detaching two filters that are screwed together too tightly
• Handling screwable lens attachments such as step-up/step-down rings or adapters within the size range

Key specifications

How to use

Place the tool over the filter or lens attachment so it engages the outer edge, apply steady, even pressure and turn counterclockwise to unscrew. For two filters stuck together, position each piece to gain leverage on both filters and rotate until the threads disengage. Avoid excessive force and ensure the tool is seated to prevent slipping and damage to filter surfaces or threads.

Recommendations

Use the accessory on compatible filters and attachments (49–58 mm) only. If a filter remains stuck after reasonable force, consider seeking professional assistance to avoid damaging the filter or lens. Store the tools in a camera bag or protective pouch to keep them clean and prevent scratching optical parts.
