Hama 00005897 camerafilter-accessoire

The Hama 00005897 camera filter accessory is a lightweight plastic tool for loosening and removing screwed-on lens filters and other screwable attachments. Supplied as a pack of two in black and weighing 9 g per set, it helps apply leverage to filters with diameters between 62 and 86 mm.

Advantages

The accessory provides a leverage effect that makes it easier to unscrew seized or tightly mated filters without damaging the filter or lens. Its lightweight plastic construction keeps the tool portable while the two-piece pack gives a spare for repeated or dual-filter jobs. The design fits a range of filter diameters from 62 mm to 86 mm.

Suitable for

• Removing seized camera filters (62–86 mm)
• Separating two filters that are tightly screwed together
• Working with screw-on lens attachments within the specified diameter range

How to use

Place the tool around the rim of the filter or the area where two filters join and apply steady, controlled force to create a leverage effect that loosens the threads. Work slowly and keep the tool aligned with the filter thread to avoid slipping or scratching the filter ring. For stubborn connections, alternate gentle turning with short rest intervals until the filter loosens.

Recommendations

Use the tool on filters and screw-on attachments only within the stated diameter range (62–86 mm). Avoid excessive force that could deform plastic components or damage filter threads; if a filter remains immobile, consult a repair service or use appropriate lens repair tools.
