Klimtouw OEM EDELRID Boa 9,8 mm × 70 m, enkelvoudig touw, Liner-Cover-constructie

OEM EDELRID Boa 9.8 mm × 70 m is a single climbing rope designed for sport climbing and alpine routes. With a 9.8 mm diameter and a 70 m length, this rope offers a balance between compact handling and sufficient reach for multi-pitch climbs or longer sport routes. The liner cover construction enhances sheath stability and abrasion resistance while preserving flexibility for smooth belaying and controlled rappelling.

Advantages

The liner cover construction provides improved sheath stability compared with standard covers, reducing sheath slippage and enhancing durability under repeated use. A 9.8 mm core diameter keeps the rope lightweight and compact for easier clipping and handling, while the 70 m length enables extended pitches and reduces the need for rope joining on many routes. The rope maintains flexibility that supports knot tying, efficient belaying, and reliable rappelling performance.

How to use

Before each use inspect the rope for visible wear, cuts, or damage to the sheath and inner core. Use appropriate rope care, avoiding sharp edges and chemical exposure. For lead climbing, follow standard clipping and belaying techniques and ensure the belayer uses a compatible belay device. For rappelling, thread the rope through a suitable anchor and belay device, confirm anchor security, and perform a controlled descent. Coil and store the rope in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and contaminants when not in use.

Recommendations

Choose this 9.8 mm × 70 m rope for routes where a balance of lightweight handling and extended length is required. Regularly inspect and retire the rope according to manufacturer guidelines if core damage or excessive sheath wear is observed. Combine with appropriate personal protective equipment and rope protection on sharp or abrasive terrain.
