Openingsgereedschap iFixit EU145336 zwart blauw grijs 1 gereedschap

The iFixit EU145336 Opening tool is a slim, flexible metal blade designed to assist in safely opening modern electronic devices. Supplied as a single tool and available in black, blue, and grey, the blade is thin and springy to slide into narrow seams where thicker tools cannot reach. The tool is intended to separate housings, release adhesive seams, and gain access to internal components without relying on excessive force.

Advantages

The spring steel construction provides a combination of flexibility and strength, allowing the blade to bend into tight gaps while maintaining control. A 0.2 mm blade thickness enables precise insertion between panels and connectors. The handle is shaped for a non-slip grip to improve handling during delicate opening operations. This metal opening tool complements plastic spudgers by offering access where more rigid or thinner edges are required.

Suitable for

• Separating display assemblies and bezels
• Opening phone, tablet, and small electronics housings
• Releasing light adhesive seams and clips
• Accessing internal components in tight seams

Key specifications

• One metal opening tool included
• Blade thickness: 0.2 mm
• Material: spring steel blade with ergonomic handle
• Available colors: black, blue, grey

How to use

Insert the thin edge of the blade gently into the seam between device parts and work the tool slowly along the join to gradually separate adhesive or clips. Use controlled, low-force movements and change insertion points as needed to reduce stress on plastic clips or glass. Combine this metal opening tool with plastic tools when approaching delicate components to minimise the risk of scratches or damage.

Recommendations

Exercise caution when using a metal opening tool: although the spring steel blade provides effective access in tight gaps, it can scratch or damage components that are better handled with plastic tools such as a spudger or plastic opening tool. Use protective tape over visible screens or sensitive surfaces and prefer plastic tools when initial separation is sufficient.
