USB port blockers are compact security devices designed to physically prevent access to USB ports. They allow system administrators to block unauthorized insertion of pen drives, USB mass storage and mobile devices into shared workstations or publicly accessible equipment with USB ports.

Advantages

These USB port blockers are simple to use and provide a physical barrier against data theft and introduction of malware via removable media. The design supports easy installation and removal with a matching key, enabling controlled access without modifying system settings or software.

Key specifications

• Function: physical blocking of USB ports
• Compatibility: for USB-A ports (standard rectangular USB)
• Operation: insert blocker, secure with matching key; remove by reinserting key and extracting blocker
• Colour-coded system: key only compatible with corresponding colour of port blocker

How to use

Attach the key to the lock and insert the blocker into the USB port. Release the sliding mechanism on the key to leave the blocker secured in the port. To remove the blocker, insert the key into the lock and pull the assembly out of the port. Follow the colour-coding to ensure you use the matching key for each blocker.

Recommendations

Keep keys securely stored and assign them only to authorized personnel. Verify port blocker colour and key match before installation and inspect blockers periodically for damage.
