DEUTER Freescape Pro 38+ SL is a 38+ liter women's-fit hiking backpack made from durable polyamide ripstop. Designed for multi-day treks and technical routes, this pack combines a women-specific SL fit with structured load management, multiple compartments and attachment points for tools and accessories. The material and construction prioritize abrasion resistance and lightweight performance while providing organised storage for clothing, food, sleeping gear and climbing equipment.

Advantages

The Freescape Pro 38+ SL features an anatomical back system tuned to a women's torso length for improved comfort and better weight distribution. Ripstop polyamide fabric delivers robust durability against cuts and abrasion without adding excessive weight. The pack offers adjustable load control and a stable hip belt to secure heavy loads on steep terrain. Multiple external attachment points, pockets and a separate sleeping pad or boot compartment support flexible packing and quick access to frequently used items.

How to use

Load heavy items low and close to the back, placing sleeping systems and bulkier gear in the lower compartment or main compartment near the hip belt to maintain balance. Use the hip belt and load adjusters to stabilise the pack and reduce shoulder strain. Secure poles, ice tools and other equipment to the external attachment points and stash frequently used items in easily reachable pockets. Adjust the shoulder straps and sternum strap for a snug, comfortable fit before setting off.

Recommendations

For long treks, distribute weight evenly and check strap tension periodically to maintain comfort. Treat the ripstop polyamide fabric like other technical fabrics: avoid prolonged UV exposure and clean with mild detergent when necessary. Use compression straps to reduce pack volume when not fully loaded and keep sharp or abrasive items in protective stuff sacks to preserve fabric integrity.
