Contragewicht Skywatcher AZEQ-6 5,2 kg – precisie-balansgewicht voor equatoriale monteringen

Counterweight Skywatcher AZEQ-6 5.2 kg is a precision balance weight intended for equatorial telescope mounts that follow the AZEQ-6 standard. With a nominal mass of 5.2 kg, the counterweight is used to balance optical tubes, cameras and accessories on the declination or counterweight shaft of compatible mounts. Proper balancing reduces load on drive motors and gear trains, contributing to smoother tracking and more stable long-exposure astrophotography.

Advantages

The counterweight is manufactured to provide a stable and concentrated mass for reliable balancing. Its weight and shape are chosen to allow easy adjustment of the mount’s center of gravity without adding unnecessary bulk. A secure fastening mechanism ensures the counterweight remains fixed on the shaft during slews and long observing sessions, helping to preserve tracking precision and reduce mechanical wear.

Suitable for

• Balancing equatorial mounts compatible with the AZEQ-6 standard
• Astrophotography with medium to large optical tubes requiring a 5.2 kg counterweight
• Visual observation where improved mount stability is needed

Key specifications

• Nominal mass: 5.2 kg
• Designed for AZEQ-6 style equatorial mounts
• Construction: single-piece precision cast or machined mass (finish may vary)
• Mounting: compatible with standard counterweight shafts used on matching mounts
• Surface: durable finish to resist corrosion and handling wear

How to use

Slide the counterweight onto the mount’s counterweight shaft and position it so the mount achieves neutral balance when the optical tube and accessories are mounted. Secure the counterweight using the shaft’s locking screw or collar according to the mount manufacturer’s instructions. For fine balance adjustments, reposition the counterweight along the shaft in small increments until the declination and right ascension axes remain stationary when brakes are released.

Recommendations

Confirm compatibility with your mount’s counterweight shaft diameter before installation and follow the mount manufacturer’s safety guidelines. When transporting the telescope, remove or lock counterweights as recommended to prevent accidental movement. Use the 5.2 kg weight together with additional counterweights if required to achieve optimal balance for heavier payloads.
