Afdekband 3M Scotch afdekband Basic 24 mm x 50 m beige

3M Scotch Abdeckband Basic is a beige general-purpose adhesive tape 24 mm wide and 50 m long designed for masking, bundling and temporary protection in home and workshop environments. The tape combines sufficient tack with easy hand-tearability to support painting preparation, cable bundling and light surface protection. It is intended for short-term applications where clean removal and straightforward handling are required.

Advantages

This masking tape offers reliable adhesion on a variety of common substrates while remaining easy to tear by hand, which speeds up application without tools. The beige color provides low visibility on many surfaces during use. The adhesive formulation allows clean removal after short-term use, reducing residue on painted surfaces and trim. Its 24 mm width and 50 m length balance coverage and convenience for small- to medium-scale tasks.

Suitable for

• Masking edges and trim during painting and decorating
• Temporary surface protection on furniture and fixtures
• Bundling cables, hoses or lightweight items
• General-purpose masking and light holding tasks in DIY projects

Key specifications

• Color: beige
• Width: 24 mm
• Length: 50 m
• Adhesive type: general-purpose removable adhesive for short-term use
• Backing material: crepe-based masking tape suitable for hand-tearing

How to use

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust or grease before applying the tape. Unroll the required length and apply firmly along the edge or area to be masked, pressing the tape down to ensure full contact. Tear by hand across the backing at the desired end point. After completing the task, remove the tape by pulling back slowly at a low angle to minimize the chance of paint lift; remove within a short-term window to ensure clean removal.

Recommendations

Use the tape for indoor, short-duration masking and protection tasks. Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure or application to fresh or delicate finishes where stronger high-performance tapes are required. Test on an inconspicuous area if surface sensitivity is unknown.
