Philips GC7840/20 stoomstrijkijzer met stoomgenerator 2400 W 1,5 L SteamGlide-strijkzool Blauw, Wit

The Philips GC7840/20 steam ironing station delivers high-capacity steam performance with a 2400 W power output and a 1.5 L water tank to support extended ironing sessions. The SteamGlide soleplate provides smooth gliding across fabrics while a maximum steam pressure of 6.5 bar helps remove creases efficiently. Designed with an energy-saving mode that reduces consumption by 30%, the unit combines robust performance with lower energy use. Its compact base and integrated hose plus a 1.8 m power cord offer practical maneuverability for home laundry tasks.

Advantages

The SteamGlide soleplate ensures even heat distribution and reduced friction, making it easier to iron diverse textiles. The generous 1.5 L water tank reduces refill frequency during larger loads, and the high steam pressure improves crease removal on thick fabrics and multilayer garments. The energy-saving design lowers electricity consumption without sacrificing steam output. Lightweight handling and a 1.6 m hose length allow comfortable movement between the iron head and the base station.

Suitable for

• Regular household ironing of shirts, trousers and dresses
• Removing deep creases from heavy fabrics like denim and linen
• Processing large laundry batches with fewer refills
• Users who prefer a stable base station for continuous steam ironing

How to use

Fill the detachable or integrated 1.5 L water tank according to the instructions in the user manual, place the iron on the base station, and switch the device on. Select the appropriate temperature and steam settings for the fabric being ironed; allow the unit to reach operating temperature before applying steam. Use the SteamGlide soleplate to move smoothly along garments, applying steam bursts for stubborn creases. After finishing, switch the appliance off, allow it to cool, and empty the tank if storing the device for an extended period.

Recommendations

For best results, sort garments by fabric type and adjust temperature settings accordingly. Use distilled or demineralized water if local water hardness is high to reduce scale buildup. Clean the soleplate and perform any recommended descaling procedures described in the manual at regular intervals to maintain steam performance and extend the appliance lifespan.
