SSD-behuizing Silverstone MS12 Zwart M.2

The Silverstone MS12 Black M.2 is an external SSD enclosure for one M.2 NVMe drive. It connects via USB Type-C using USB 3.2 Gen2x2 and supports PCI Express 3.0 and Serial Attached SCSI interfaces, providing up to 20 Gbit/s transfer speed in a compact aluminium body finished in black.

Advantages

The aluminium alloy case with a built-in thermal pad helps dissipate heat and maintain stable performance during prolonged high-load use. USB 3.2 Gen2x2 (20Gbps SuperSpeed+) provides fast data transfer for backups, file transfers and editing directly from the drive. The enclosure is lightweight and portable while supporting standard M.2 NVMe drives with PCIe 3.0 and SAS interfaces.

Suitable for

• Expanding portable storage with a single M.2 NVMe SSD
• Fast file transfers and backups via USB Type-C
• On-the-go video/photo editing from an external NVMe drive
• Temporary cloning or migration of internal M.2 drives

How to use

Install a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD into the MS12 enclosure following the included installation steps: open the aluminium casing, insert the M.2 drive into the M-keyed slot, secure it with the mounting screw and reassemble the case. Connect the enclosure to a host device using a USB Type-C cable that supports USB 3.2 Gen2x2 to achieve maximum transfer rates. The drive will be recognised by most modern operating systems without additional drivers.

Recommendations

Use a USB 3.2 Gen2x2-capable host and cable to reach up to 20Gbps. Ensure the thermal pad makes firm contact with the SSD for optimal cooling during extended high-load operations. For best results, confirm your M.2 SSD is compatible with PCIe 3.0 or SAS interfaces.
