WLAN-repeater Netgear EAX17 dualband 2.4/5 GHz, 802.11ax/ac, 4x4, Gigabit Ethernet, wit

The Netgear EAX17 Wireless Range Extender is a wall‑plug WiFi 6 (802.11ax) dual‑band extender designed to expand and improve wireless coverage in small to medium‑sized homes and offices. Supporting simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation with up to 3.0 Gbps aggregated throughput and 4x4 data streams, the unit provides increased capacity for multiple devices, low‑latency streaming and gaming, and backward compatibility with earlier Wi‑Fi standards.

Advantages

The EAX17 delivers enhanced wireless capacity and faster multi‑device performance through Wi‑Fi 6 technology and a dual‑core 1.3 GHz processor. Its wall‑plug form factor with three internal antennas simplifies placement to extend coverage without extra cabling. Built‑in security features such as WPA3 and 128‑bit AES help protect connected devices. A single Gigabit Ethernet port enables a wired connection for a gaming console, smart TV or access point, while support for One WiFi name simplifies device roaming within the extended network.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Extending home or small office Wi‑Fi coverage to eliminate dead zones
• Streaming 4K video and multimedia across multiple devices
• Low‑latency online gaming via Wi‑Fi or a wired gigabit connection
• Supporting many simultaneous smart home devices and mobile clients
• Creating a Mesh WiFi 6 system together with an existing router

How to use

Plug the Netgear EAX17 into an electrical outlet roughly halfway between your router and the area where you need better coverage. Use the Nighthawk mobile app or the web setup to connect the extender to your existing Wi‑Fi network; the extender can adopt your current network name and password to create a single seamless network. For devices that require maximum throughput or lowest latency, connect them to the built‑in Gigabit Ethernet port. The extender supports automatic band steering and roaming to keep devices on the best available connection.

Recommendations

Place the extender where it still receives a strong signal from your router; avoid locations with heavy interference or physical obstructions. For optimal mesh performance, update firmware via the Nighthawk app, and position the EAX17 in a central area for uniform coverage. Use the Gigabit Ethernet port for bandwidth‑sensitive devices when possible.
