Outdoor-IP-camera Instar IN-9408 – 2K-resolutie, LAN- en WLAN-connectiviteit

Instar IN-9408 is an outdoor IP camera offering 2K resolution with both LAN and WLAN connectivity for flexible placement in exterior surveillance setups. Designed for home and small business use, the camera delivers sharper detail than standard Full HD and integrates with common IP-camera systems for continuous monitoring. Weather-resistant housing and network connectivity options make it suitable for mounting on façades, under eaves, or at gate entries where reliable remote viewing and recording are required.

Advantages

The camera provides higher-than-Full-HD image quality at 2K resolution, improving identification of faces and license plates at moderate distances. Dual connectivity by wired Ethernet and wireless WLAN allows installation where cabling is difficult while retaining the option for a stable wired link. The unit is built for outdoor conditions and supports standard IP network integration, enabling remote live view, recording to a network storage device, and compatibility with common surveillance software.

Suitable for

• Home exterior monitoring (entrance, driveway, garden)
• Small business perimeter and storefront surveillance
• Monitoring of private property and outbuildings
• Integration into existing IP-camera networks for remote access and recording

Key specifications

• Optical resolution: 2K (approximately 4 megapixel class image)
• Network interfaces: wired Ethernet (LAN) and wireless LAN (WLAN)
• Outdoor-capable housing with weather protection suitable for exterior installation
• Compatible with standard IP-camera systems and network recording
• Real-time streaming and remote viewing over local network or internet

How to use

Mount the camera on a stable surface using appropriate fasteners at the chosen outdoor location, ensuring the lens has an unobstructed view. Connect to power and choose either wired Ethernet for maximum stability or configure WLAN through the camera’s setup interface to join the local wireless network. Use the included setup software or a compatible IP-camera management application to assign an IP address, configure recording schedules, motion detection zones, and user access. Verify live view, recording destinations (local NVR, NAS, or cloud if supported), and test remote access from a mobile device or desktop client.

Recommendations

Place the camera under an overhang or use a small hood to reduce direct exposure to heavy rain and sunlight. For best image clarity, position the camera to avoid backlit scenes and set motion detection sensitivity according to the expected activity level. Prefer wired Ethernet for continuous high-bandwidth recording; use WLAN when cabling is impractical and ensure a strong signal from the access point.
